The 10th China-Japan Conference on Education Exchange & Cooperation was successfully held in Tokyo from November 13rd to 15th 2024. It was sponsored by the China Education Association for International Exchange, co-organized by the Japan Student Service Organization (JASSO), undertaken by the Global Education Service (XIANGFEI) and supported by the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in Japan and the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology of Japan of Japan. Titled "New Thinking and New Scenarios of China-Japan Education Exchange and Cooperation in the New Era", the conference brought together over 1,000 representatives from more 80 universities, vocational colleges and high schools in China and above 120 universities, high schools and enterprises in Japan, reaching the largest scale ever.
Prof. Feng Chi, vice dean of the Faculty of Architecture and Urban Planning, Chongqing University, attended the conference and presided over the keynote speech session on "Education Exchange Empowers the Sustainable Development of Urban and Rural Areas in China and Japan". At this session, Prof. Michiko Takagaki from Chiba University, Prof. Luan Feng from Tongji University, Prof. Nobuo Mishima from Saga University and Prof. Wang Shifu from South China University of Technology gave keynote speeches entitled "Cases of Assisting Rural Development in Uganda, Africa", "College Students' Rural Planning Scheme Competition Promotes Rural Planning and Construction Talents Training", "Urban Renewal and Historical and Cultural Protection" and "Local Urbanism in China's Urban and Rural Planning Innovation Practice" respectively.
At the subsequent China-Japan high-end talent exchange session, Feng Chi had friendly talks with Chinese students studying in Japan, gave detailed introduction to policies and support measures of Chongqing University and the faculty for talent recruitment, and encouraged them to serve the motherland after their studies, contributing to building a great socialist country with Chinese characteristics in the new era. During his visit to prestigious universities such as Waseda University, Feng Chi had in-depth exchanges with their representatives on opportunities and ways to promote the cooperation in scientific research and teaching.
This conference enhances the international influence of Chongqing University and the Faculty of Architecture and Urban Planning, strengthens the cooperation with high-level universities in Japan and plays a positive role in introducing high-end talents.
