Prof. Long Hao, a doctoral supervisor and head of the Department of Architecture, received a letter of appointment from the secretariat of the International Union of Architects, marking that Long Hao was officially appointed as the new Co-Director of the International Union of Architects-Public Health Group (UIA-PHG) for the period from 2023 to 2026.

The International Union of Architects (UIA), an A-level advisory organization affiliated to the UNESCO, was founded in Lausanne, Switzerland on June 28, 1948. It holds the member congress every three years to elect a new council and simultaneously convenes the World Congress of Architects, UIA, the largest international conference in the field of architecture and the most influential academic organization of architects in the world. As one of the working bodies of the International Union of Architects, UIA-PHG established in 1955 is dedicated to speeding up the rehabilitation of patients and improving medical operation satisfaction by building an efficient, safe and aestheticmedical and health care environment, thereby benefiting the world public health.
Since 1957, under the leadership and support of the Architectural Society of China, industry leaders and distinguished scholars of China such as Yang Yanbao have held key posts such as vice-chairman in the International Union of Architects and have maintained an important voice for a long time, playing a significant role in promoting exchanges and cooperation between architectural circles at home and abroad and enhancing the international influence of China's architectural culture. In the second half of 2023, Long Hao got the nomination from the secretariat of the International Union of Architects and Xiu Long, President of the Architectural Society of China, signed the Declaration-Member Section..

Successfully, Long Hao was appointed as the Co-director of the International Union of Architects-Public Health Group. This not only marks the first time for a Chinese architect to hold a leadership post in this field, But also reflects the significant influence and progress made by Chinese architectures in public health design and research over the previous years. Besides, this appointment also symbolizes that the achievements made by Long Hao's team in medical architecture and healthy living environment in recent years have been recognized internationally ,wining an international prestige for Chongqing University’s architecture discipline.
