Professor Ali Cheshmehzangi, Dean of the University of Nottingham Ningbo China's School of Architecture, visits the Faculty of Architecture and Urban Planning, Chongqing University upon the invitation of Researcher He Baojie on the afternoon of February 6. They discussed sharing teaching and research experience, carrying out complementary cooperation, exploring joint teaching and talent training modes of characteristic disciplines over a meeting. Researcher He Baojie presided at the meeting. Other participants included Du Chunlan, Dean of the Faculty, Xie Hui, Deputy Dean of the Faulty, Weng Ji, Deputy Dean of the Faulty, and Professor Lu Feng.

At the meeting, Du Chunlan delivered a welcome speech to Professor Ali Cheshmehzangi and other honored guests. Du expressed her recognition of the extraordinary contribution made by Professor Ali Cheshmehzangi to the education and scientific research of architecture, introduced Professor Ali Cheshmehzangi to the development history, disciplinary construction, and talent training of Chongqing University with great enthusiasm. Furthermore, Du pointed out that exploring a cooperation and exchange mode is crucial for the development of the architecture of the two universities. She also wished the meeting a great success.

At the very beginning of the meeting, Professor Ali Cheshmehzangi gave a view of the education and teaching system of the University of Nottingham Ningbo China's School of Architecture and the scientific research achievements of the teachers, including sustainability of the city, food system of the city, the resilience of the city, the transformation of the city, and energy modeling of the city. After that, Professor Ali Cheshmehzangi showcased the latest urban design and management projects of the University of Nottingham Ningbo China, and the compilation of a series of books on sustainable development of cities under Springer.

Deputy Dean Weng Ji gave a detailed introduction to the development history of the Faculty of Architecture and Urban Planning of Chongqing University, and the leading role that architecture, urban planning, and landscape architecture play in the discipline system of Chongqing University. Weng pointed out that the Faculty of Architecture and Urban Planning adopted discipline-based enrollment in 2020, and has by now made outstanding achievements; furthermore, the disposition report of graduates of the Faculty of Architecture and Urban Planning in recent years fully demonstrated the remarkable teaching performance of the Faculty.

Deputy Dean Xie Hui gave a comprehensive introduction to the international exchange of the Faculty, including the international exchange programs for undergraduates, post-graduates, and doctoral candidates. To meet the needs and benefits of its students, the Faculty has been making efforts to seek cooperation with world top-ranking universities, with duration ranging from 3 months or 6 months to 1 year, so as to improve the students' ability and expand their horizon from various aspects.

Professor Lu Feng introduced the achievements made by the Faculty of Architecture and Urban Planning in its international development. By now, the Faculty has established stable long-term cooperation relationships with more than 20 world-renowned architecture colleges, universities, and international institutions in the USA, the UK, Germany, the Netherlands, Italy, Australia, Singapore, Japan, and Malaysia. Various forms of international cooperation are being adopted to promote international cooperation and exchange, such as cooperative education, cooperative research, joint design, joint teaching, international conferences, academic exchanges, and student exchanges.

The meeting was brought to a successful end after that. Officials of the Faculty and Professor Ali showed their strong intention to seek cooperation. Hopefully, the University of Nottingham Ningbo China's School of Architecture and the Faculty of Architecture and Urban Planning, Chongqing University will carry out in-depth cooperation in teaching and scientific research, and start a new chapter of the "post-pandemic" international cooperation and exchange between universities.
