Attending scholars came from 60 countries and regions including China, Britain, Australia, Japan, Canada, Spain, Russia, Italy, Colombia, Jordan, India, Iran, Singapore, Turkey, Malaysia, etc. At the conference, they discussed and explored the impact of greenhouse gas emissions on the global temperature and global warming as well as the corresponding solutions and strategies.
The conference aimed to strengthen the exchange of relevant achievements on climate change and environmental sustainability and promote the development of research on climate change mitigation and adaptation, sustainable urban and rural planning and design, decarbonization of built environment and climate change management. The International Conference of CCES was initiated by He Baojie, a "Hongshen" Young Scholar from the Faculty of Architecture and Urban Planning and a winner of "Green Talents" Award of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research, Germany. Following 2021, the conference was hosted in the name of Chongqing University for the second consecutive year.
In addition, the conference was strongly supported by experts from many internationally renowned universities, including Ms. E.Didem Evci Kiraz, Dean of Department of Atmospheric Interdisciplinary Environmental Health, Ms. Rongrong Cheacharoen, Head of Institute of Metallurgy and Materials Science, Chulalongkorn University, Bangkok, Thailand, and Mr. Joni Jupesta, Senior Researcher, Kyoto Institute of Earth Innovation Technology, Japan.
At the opening ceremony, He Baojie pointed out that climate change posed a great challenge to the living environment of humans and actively responding to climate change was an important measure to promote social progress and development. The 2nd International Conference of CCES gathered global experts and scholars to discuss issues such as environmental sustainability, climate mitigation and adaptation and environmental carbon reduction, which had positive significance for promoting the solution of climate change.
