Abstract:
Our concept about the architecture is to hope to react to the rapid changing society between different scale projects. From my undergraduate architecture program to Urbanism program of postgraduate, my research focus on Infrastructure Urbanism at HKU, and the first interior build up project, we are always switching between different urban scale and project size. The principle which is always leading our design is to create richful urban scenescape. We try to use scenescape as the medium, the scale as the boundary to dialogue with the city, community and street.

Fan Qi is the founding partner of the independent studio VARI Design which focuses on urban scale issues. Mr. Qi graduated from Zhejiang University with bachelor of Architecture, and University of Pennsylvania with master of landscape architecture. He has taught at the Faculty of Architecture, University of Hong Kong as course coordinator and research associate. His academic interest and practice have being concentrated on different scale of urban regeneration topics, the mode and relationship between infrastructure and regeneration projects. Fan Qi has also been invited to Singapore Temasek foundation “Asian Leadership Program” as the delegate of Chongqing city. The architectural and urban projects of VARI design have won international awards as Architizer A+, Archdaily, etc.
