From 29 to 31 July, 2023, the 3rd International Conference for Global Chinese Academia on Energy and Built Environment was held in Shanghai. Feng Chi, the Vice Dean of Faculty of Architecture and Urban Planning, Chongqing University, stood out for the research on "Coupled Heat and Moisture Transfer of Building Envelope" and was entitled as one of the three "Distinguished Young Scholars".
At the closing ceremony of the conference, an awarding event of Academic Award as Distinguished Young Scholar in 2023 for Energy and Built Environment (EBE) Journal was held. The Academic Award initiated by EBE aims to identify and encourage promising academic youth in the field of energy and built environment. At each conference, 3 "Distinguished Young Scholars" and 3 "Distinguished Doctoral Candidates" will be appraised and elected. For this Academic Award, the Committee of the 3rd International Conference for Global Chinese Academia on Energy and Built Environment was entrusted to organize the review and the academicians He Yaling from Xi'an Jiaotong University and Yan Jinyue from Hong Kong Polytechnic University presented the awards. According to the first round review by 60 academic committee experts and industry experts and the second round on-site defense review by 7 experts during the conference, Feng Chi revealed the talent for the research on "Coupled Heat and Moisture Transfer of Building Envelope" and won the honorary title of "Distinguished Young Scholar". It is also the first time for young teachers from Chongqing University to receive this honor.
This conference jointly sponsored by Shanghai Jiaotong University, Southwest Jiaotong University, University of Colorado, USA and University of Hull, UK has received the special support from the National Natural Science Foundation of China and has been selected into the recommended list of important conferences of China Association for Science and Technology. Focusing on "carbon peaking and carbon neutrality", it invited 11 plenary lectures and organized 61 parallel sessions around the topics of clean energy utilization, energy efficiency improvement in built environment, environmental quality improvement, healthy and intelligent operation and maintenance, high-performance materials, transportation buildings and transportation systems and attracted 1,421 participants.
