Why choose to study at Chongqing University?

Mohammed Rahmoun: I first got to know about Chongqing from my cousin when he came back for the summer vacation in Syria. I was fascinated by all the stories he had shared about the people, the nature, the city, and the culture in China, which drove me to start thinking about how it would be like to continue my masters here and experience it myself in China.
Rustam Irgashev: During my bachelor degree study I learned that our university had exchange program with China’s several top universities. I checked all of them from level, culture and location and I liked Chongqing University because of the 3D topography and traditional culture of Chongqing. In 2012 after getting bachelor degree in Tashkent I decided to come to Chongqing.

Any unforgettable experiences or stories in Chongqing University?

Mohammed Rahmoun: There are a lot of memories that highlights my study years in Chongqing University, experience that I shared with my friends, colleagues, and professors. I took part in numerous activities, focusing on exchanging ideas and culture between international students, and sport tournaments as well, like football and swimming competitions.
Of course, the biggest moment will always be the day of my final defense and the acceptance of my thesis, it was an emotional day when all my hard work and dedication finally came up with a result that I am proud of. I was fortunate to share this with my friends and professors. I think that was the perfect moment that highlights my time in Chongqing University.
Rustam Irgashev: I met students from more than 50 countries, qualified local and foreign professors in Chongqing University. We share our skills and cultures,participatedinCultural Festival and traditional holidays,worked on workshops, visited research sites and real projects.It was wonderful time during study in Chongqing University.

Talk about your current job.

Mohammed Rahmoun: After I graduated from Chongqing University I started working for CCTEG (China Coal Technology& Engineering Group) in the Six Architectural Institute, doing projects covering different topics like urban planning, architecture design and interior design.
I enjoy my time in the company. I love to keep challenging myself. With every new project there is a new challenge, not to mention the work environment and the support I have from my bosses and colleagues, that will always keep me humble and drive me to do my best every day.
Rustam Irgashev: Since 2015 I’ve been working as an architect designer of the Six Architectural Design Institute, China Coal Technology & Engineering Group. Founded in 1953, CCTEG has tree subsidiaries and more than 60 survey and engineering design institutes and branches.
Over the last seven years, it has completed more than 100 projects surveys and engineering designs and scientific research achievements have won national and provincial awards.For the last four years we have participated in international competition projects in Cambodia, Myanmar, Thailand and most of them are located in Uzbekistan. There are public hospitals, schools, cultural centers, sport complexes, commercial and residential etc.

Mohammed Rahmoun: I would like to thank everyone in Chongqing University, the professors, and specially my supervisor Prof. Xie Hui, the staff, and my colleagues for their support during my study then and after. They made my journey there memorable, pleasant, and heartwarming. I will be always thankful for all their efforts and kindness.
I would tell all international students in Chongqing University to enjoy the moment and work their hard so they can be proud of their time there. Wish them all the best.
