Sub-discipline and advantageous characteristics

This Discipline has a complete education system that covers undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral programs and postdoctoral research station. Sub-disciplines that have already been established include Landscape Planning and Resource Protection, Gardens and Landscape Design, History and Theory of Landscape Architecture, Ecological Restoration and Plant Application. In the past decades, the Discipline has been making enormous efforts to study mountain landscape while attaching importance to patriotism, international horizon and excellent academic tradition, and respond to the major strategic need of the country. It has showed distinct advantages and characteristics.

1) Theory and practice of innovative mountain landscape

The Discipline has been seeking for innovative theoretical methods and key technologies of mountain landscape, and playing a leading role in the development of rural and urban mountain landscape. Besides, it has been making active efforts to expedite technical transformation and implementation. The practical cases extend to various dimensions and levels and are playing a significant demonstration role.

2) Intersection and integration of systematic academic system

Based on the discipline group of architecture, urban planning and landscape architecture, and drawing on comprehensive disciplinary resources of the "Double-First-Rate" Construction Program, the Discipline has made significant achievements in areas including mountain landscape design and ecological restoration of fluctuating zone by giving full play to its coordinated development characteristics.

3) Intensive cultivation and expansion of open teaching research

The Discipline has been actively responding to the national strategy and has established an interactive system of enterprise-university-research that "responds dynamically to major strategy". It has been promoting disciplinary exchange at home and abroad, and building a multi-dimension and open teaching and research pattern through different approaches.

Cultivation objectives and source of students
