Research fields: urban planning and design, mountainous area human settlement. Director of Mountainous Area Human Settlement Research Centre, Faculty of Architecture and    Urban Planning, Chongqing University, Two Rivers Scholar Distinguished Professor. He has been in charge of 17 research projects, including key project funded by the National Natural Science Foundation, National Science and Technology Support program  projects, and Ministry of Education Fund. He was awarded two First Prize of Science and  Technology Progress by the Ministry of Education . He won Second Prize of Science and   Technology Progress by Ministry of Land and Resources. His urban planning works have  won several awards from the Ministry of Construction and Chongqing Government. He has published 8 academic books and over 150 dissertations. He has educated 21 Doctoral    students, 100 Master students graduated.
